An international colloquium was held in 1999 in two stages in Paris and Alexandria (Egypt) under the title "Des Alexandries". This first volume, "Des Alexandries. Du livre au texte" gives a more expanded version of the exposés presented at the Paris colloquium held at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, 23-25 June 1999.
